This week the Yaralla program took advantage of the clear weather and sunshine and went on an excursion to Yaralla Estate. Originally the home of Thomas Walker and his daughter Dame Eadith Walker, Yaralla Estate can be accessed by Rivendell School through a foreshore trail. Students enjoyed the walk past dense mangroves and Concord Hospital.
On the way, we identified discussed the Swamp-oak Floodplain Forest and Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest, unique to the area. We also identified invasive species such as Lantana and Farmers Friend.
