The team in Lawson has decided that 2020 is the year to resurrect our program garden to its once former glory. This week, all students in Lawson went to spend time weeding, trimming and planting fresh new veggies and fruits in the garden.
We planted seedlings for passionfruit, strawberries, carrots, broccoli, snow peas, basil, oregano, lemongrass, tomatoes, and rocket.
As a program, we discussed different gardening techniques, and where to best place particular fruits, veggies and herbs for either direct or indirect sunlight. We also discussed the best mulching and composting techniques, and why they are important in helping our garden grow.
Our 2020 goal is to turn the Lawson garden into a place where students can sit and read, complete school work or simply improve their gardening skills.
Watch this space for some wonderful Lawson food creations when the plants begin to flourish!
