Students of Rivendell School took part in an indoor plant making demonstration, which is part of the weekly workshop program at the very special 5 Senses Community Garden in Concord West.
Students learnt how to create an indoor plant oasis with confidence and were given the opportunity to develop their gardening and interpersonal skills.
The Monday morning gatherings often involve cooking lessons and/or discussions about plants or other topics. No matter the focus, they always end with a delicious meal to share at the end. Previous sessions have ranged from risotto-making to gardening for good health. Coming up, there’s a Greek-Cypriot feast and a session on Christmas cooking.
The workshops are a way for older residents of the area to share their knowledge and for people of all ages and abilities to come together.
