On Wednesday 30th October, Rivendell School held our annual Storyweavers event. The theme for this year’s Storyweavers was ‘My Place / Our Place’ and this year Rivendell School joined with Woniora Road School and Centennial Park School to create a multimedia exhibition. The evening was a huge success!
Throughout the year, students across the three schools have participated in art and creative writing workshops. In these workshops they developed art works, digital products, spoken word recordings and creative writing pieces. All of these works were displayed within the grounds of Rivendell School to produce an evening of reflection, creativity and celebration that offers an insight to the students’ ideas about ‘My Place / Our Place’.
” It was simply a beautiful evening, everyone should be very proud.”
– Rivendell School parent
The Rivendell School Student Representative Council hosted the night and they all did an outstanding job introducing key guests, serving food and drinks, and showing guests around our beautiful grounds.
Nic Newling, founder of The Champions Network and former Rivendell School student, opened the event, inspiring students and families by his journey and success. We also heard from the creative professionals who worked with our students to create works on display. Bilal Hafda from the Sydney Story Factory spoke of the positive messages students created in the printed Storyweavers publication. Michael Moebus spoke of the inspiring and expressive voices, and music of students through his audio productions. Howard Matthew shared the outstanding collaboration between our students, schools and the broader community to create such a successful event.
Well done to all the students who created such inspirational, honest and creative pieces for the evening. The night was an incredible success thanks to you!
