After a productive and busy Term One, the Sulman students were treated to a delicious barbecue at the newly established 5 Senses Garden at Rhodes Park – which is only a short stroll from the Rivendell School grounds. The students toured the gardens, which features many edible treats, and enjoyed the beautiful sensory-inspired spaces within the park.
Our wonderful Student Learning Support Officers (who we think are secretly Masterchefs!) cooked up a feast using the communal kitchen and dining area. Juicy gourmet hamburgers and cupcakes adorned with mini chicks and chocolate eggs were on the days menu.
After lunch, the students had a great time utilising the many hands-on aspects of the garden. In particular, the round swing and giant wind chimes were the biggest hits of the day!
The celebration was a great opportunity for Sulman students to relax and socialise with their peers. We look forward to returning to the garden and participating in the workshops that the Inner West Neighbour Aid have to offer. A fantastic day had by all!
