At Gna Ka Lun, Rivendell’s Campbelltown Hospital ‘campus’, students have finalised their entries for Rivendell’s Christmas Card Competition. The winning entries will be professionally printed and sent to members of the Rivendell community in celebration of the upcoming festive season.
The opportunity to create Christmas cards provided students with an artistic break away from the usual routine of academic work and health meetings. Students enjoyed exploring the creative world of using watercolour paints. The theme of this year’s Christmas Card competition, Australiana and Rivendell School, encouraged the students to research native Australian fauna and the historic grounds of Rivendell. Gna Ka Lun students were amazed at how beautiful Rivendell School is, with a few remarking “it looks like Hogwarts!”. Overall, students created some truly beautiful pieces and enjoyed working as part of the Rivendell School community.
Below is a sneak peek of the Christmas decorations the students are creating in afternoon groups with the Allied Health team. These decorations are a small part of the efforts in preparing for the annual Christmas Competition, where units across the South Western Sydney Local Health District compete for the prestigious award of Best Decorated Unit. Stay tuned for the results!
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
