Over the last two terms, Rivendell School has provided a language ‘taster course’ as part of the Friday afternoon workshop options. Students had the opportunity to learn the basics in a variety of languages including Japanese, French, Spanish, Russian, German and Australian Sign Language (Auslan). Depending on the language, students tried their hand at learning numbers, letters and basic greetings – with plenty of laughter along the way!
As part of learning about the different cultures, students also enjoyed cuisines from around the world – from Japanese miso soup and green tea all the way to German Pfeffernuesse biscuits.
These workshops provided a fun introduction to the wonderful world of languages, and students enjoyed challenging themselves in a comfortable and supportive environment. A big congratulations and ありがとう to all students who participated!
