Last week Rivendell School held a Graduation Assembly to celebrate our Year 12 leavers. As part of the celebrations, these graduating students were treated to a special lunch, along with their Year 11 peers, down in the historic Rivendell School boat house.
The students were then ‘farewelled’ in front of the whole school and their families in a formal assembly. During the proceedings students were praised by their supervisors through heart felt speeches, presented with their scroll (which details a list of things that will be missed about the student), and awarded their Record of Achievement and leaving medal by Rivendell School Principal, Jennifer Shumack. Students and their families then enjoyed celebratory cake and refreshments in the school courtyard. There were plenty of smiles and tears on the day by staff, students and their families, which is a reflection of the close bonds that form during the years of schooling at Rivendell School.
The journey for many of our students to achieve their Higher School Certificate is often challenging, however these students have exhibited great determination, strength and commitment in reaching this goal. Rivendell School is incredibly proud of all that these students have achieved and wish them the very best with their future endeavours.
Thank you to all those who attended the day, and special thanks to our school Music Therapist, Joanne McIntyre, and selected students for their beautiful performance.
