This term, the Sulman program are trialling a new skills-based session which takes place on Thursday mornings, as part of the regular morning circle routine. The session, which is aptly named “How to Adult”, focuses on a variety of every day “adult” tasks which students have identified as areas they would like to learn more about. The aim of the program is to empower our students with real-life practical knowledge, and assist with their confidence in transitioning from Rivendell. Students are asked throughout the week to anonymously recommend topics for future sessions and Sulman staff then provide a short 10 – 15 minute crash course!
Topics covered so far have been “How to Buy Groceries Online” and “How to Budget”, with staff showing the students several online resources and apps designed to help people to save money efficiently. Next week, students will learn about the best way to spot a good deal when buying a car!
