Lawson End of Year Wrap Up

Preparing the Garden for the Holidays

Lawson students had many jobs to complete in the garden to prepare for the holidays. Many plants had to be removed to prevent our garden becoming overgrown during the holiday break. Students mulched the garden beds and remaining plants. We were all excited to see our newly planted sunflower seeds had begun to sprout and hope to return to some beautiful flowers after the break. With no one to care for the worms over the break, Lawson students were excited to set them free. There were 1000’s of them and we know that they will make the soil nutritious whilst also enjoying their new home!

Gingerbread House Activity

Lawson students loved all of the end of term Christmas craft activities this week. Most popular, was assembling and decorating ginger bread houses. Despite the many collapses caused by the heat this week, we were impressed with the students patience and commitment to completing their projects. We all ate a bit too much sugar in the process but it was totally worth it!

Christmas Food Drive

Our Christmas food drive was a huge success again this year. We were so impressed with the generosity of our students who put a lot of thought into the needs of those less fortunate than them. All the food, toiletries and gifts will be distributed by Salvation Army to individuals and families in need over the holiday period.
