In this terms craft workshop, students had a great time learning how to make candles. They loved exploring and mixing a range of scents including: watermelon, rose, citrus, strawberry, lavender and vanilla. Students heated soy wax in a large pot to 50 degrees Celsius. They then mixed 90% wax and 10% essential oils and filled their prepared glass jars and recycled cups.
These candles can be used as gifts and students will decorate and wrap them in the coming weeks. Students had a great time in this hands on activity. A huge thank you to our resident candle maker Deb who shared her equipment and expertise during this activity!
