At the end of last term, the Year 7 – 10 English students took part in an educational and entertaining Book Fair. The students spent the term learning about different text types (short stories, newspaper articles, journal entries, etc.), whilst also reading a novel of their choosing. The students all worked hard throughout the term to produce some excellent pieces of work. Some of the work included posters to advertise their books, journal entries from the perspective of their favourite characters, and short stories inspired by their chosen books.
Staff and students from all over the school visited the Book Fair and were all very impressed with the standard of work created. It was also wonderful to see that several of the staff and students got into the spirit of the day by dressing up as their favourite book character. A big congratulations to all the students who took part in the Book Fair last term!
This term the Year 7 – 10 English students will be studying the concept of protest through a variety of texts.
