Our music therapist, Joanne comes in twice a week to work with the students in the Paterson, Walker and Sulman programs. The students deeply engage with the program and have been making fantastic progress in their musical expressions.
As staff we are constantly impressed with the skill and creative output of the students in this program. It is a true collaboration between Joanne and the students. She provides the ultimate nurturing and comfortable environment for musicians to excel and when all the elements come together, magic happens!
Here are some pictures from one of the last sessions with Sulman students:

Music therapy is a research-based practice and profession in which music is used to actively support people as they strive to improve their health, functioning and wellbeing. Joanne has been working with Rivendell students for quite a while and they are able to report that it affects their wellbeing in a very positive way.
