Boomerang Bag project
This term’s SRC market stall will be held at the Concord Hospital Markets on Thursday, week 7. The SRC will be working toward making tie-dyed boomerang bags to sell at the market stall. Boomerang bags are reusable carry bags that have been crafted from upcycled old t-shirts.
With this in mind, the SRC would like to request donations of old t-shirts that you or your family members don’t wear anymore. These have to be t-shirts that you wouldn’t mind being cut-up, paint-splattered and refashioned into reusable bags. The SRC will have a working bee later in the term to make these no-sew boomerang bags, and sell them at the upcoming market stall.
The SRC will accept t-shirts of any size and t-shirts of different colours. Lighter t-shirts are preferable as they can be tie-dyed more effectively, but the SRC will also accept dark, coloured and patterned t-shirts. Donations can be left in the donation box in the Lawson building, or at the front office of the school.
Who knows- you may want to buy back your upcycled old t-shirt at the market stall!
