The staff and students of the Lawson program are very excited that their new vegetable and fruit garden is up and running!
Inspired by the success of the other programs’ gardens, the staff and students of Lawson wanted to test out their own green thumbs. Fortunate enough to have access to two big gardens beds, the students popped on their gloves and planted seedlings for kale, tomatoes, rocket, watermelon, parsley and basil (just to name a few!).
Gardening has become a favourite activity amongst the Lawson students and is now a regular fixture within the program. Tending to the garden allows for students to get some fresh air, work together as a team, and practise responsibilities in terms of maintaining and caring for the plants. The staff have all been very impressed with the Lawson students’ commitment to the garden, and their willingness to get a little dirty!
We look forward to seeing the garden grow into delicious fruit and vegetables. The Lawson students will provide regular updates of the garden throughout next term and the year ahead. Stay tuned!
