A few clear days free of rain this week has revealed the insects at Rivendell are hungry! Our garden has been ravaged by insects (and perhaps possums) over the last week, eating some stalks right down to their stump or peeling back leaves to their bare skeleton.
We are keen to keep our garden chemical free and have brainstormed some more natural methods of eradicating the insects from our leafy vegetables and deterring hungry possums. Our concoction of vinegar and other kitchen supplies seems to have had little affect and we are (can you believe this?) a little happy that the rain has returned to provide our garden with some respite from the attack.
Whilst our research into garden insect protection will continue into the new week, we would love to hear some remedies that you have used which have worked. If you would like to suggest one of these, please fill out the form below. Yaralla students will be reading these next week and developing a strategy. Of course, we will report back the success in the coming weeks.
